Besides the basic cost based on the duration of volunteering, you need some pocket money of US $50 per week to meet your personal expenses of bottled water, personal items, toiletries, beverage, entertainment, etc.If you are volunteering outside Kathmandu Valley, you need to pay $25 to $50 (based on the location of your placement) for road transportation

7. What would be the living and transport arrangements during volunteering?
Vfdnepal provides accommodation that is covered by the basic cost of volunteering. During language and cultural orientation for 5 days, volunteers need to stay with other volunteers at Vfdnepal Office in Kathmandu. After orientation, volunteers will be placed at their volunteering site where they have to stay with Nepalese host families.Vfdnepal compensates volunteer's food and accommodation to the host family. All host families are well contacted and briefed about volunteer's stay, work and safety. At the placement sites, well-trained Youth Coordinators will be together for assistance and coordination all the time. For transportation,Vfdnepal provides transportation to and from airport, short excursions and placement sites within Kathmandu Valley. This will be covered by the volunteering cost. This is applicable to all, but those who want to volunteer outside Kathmandu Valley need to pay extra for road-transportation varying from $25 to $50 based on the distance of the placement. Vfdnepal arranges a safe, comfort and pleasant travel.
8. Should one be single for volunteering with Vfdnepal?

10. How to organise flights and get a visa for volunteering in Nepal?
Any travel agency in your city provide information and book flights for your visit to Nepal. If needed, Vfdnepal can provide information for affordable flights to and from Nepal. For a visa for your trip to Nepal, you can access to Nepalese Embassy or Nepalese Consulate or other Mission offices in your country. 13. What precautions does a volunteer need to take for health and hygiene?
A volunteer needs to consult a physician in his or her country for any kind of vaccination that requires for international travelling. A volunteer will get assistance at times of his or her need in health related issues during volunteering in Nepal. It is appreciable if you can bring a small first-aid kit with you and sufficient doses of the medicine, if anyone is taking a prescribed medicine before coming to Nepal.
For hygiene related matters, Vfdnepal tries its level best to ensure the quality of food and water during training and placement. All host families are trained and made aware of maintaining quality of hygiene including germ-free food and water. A volunteer needs to be aware of the illnesses and should try to keep his or herself healthy and fit during volunteering in Nepal.
